Monday 26th August
An intense Middlesex League Playoffs Final for the U17s against Ealing. Sunbury were put into bat first and set a target off 136 for Ealing to chase. Nate Bhardwaj (38 off 29). With 2 balls remaining Ealing completed the chase with 5 wickets in hand. A valiant effort from the U17s!
In the U14s Surrey Cup Final against Dulwich, Sunbury were sent out to field first and kept Dulwich to 135 runs. The Sunbury innings started of well with Charlie Maunders scoring 33 and Rishaan Mehmi smashing 37 off 22. However, with good bowling and fielding from Dulwich, Sunbury were all out needing 14 runs off 14 balls.
The U12s are the Champions of the Surrey Hundred Plate, after destroying Ham and Petersham in the final. Sunbury batted first and set a total of 126 runs for Ham and Petersham to chase. Rhythm Gala (23 rtno), Ridhaan Gala (24 rtno), Lucas Cholewa (26 rtno). Magnificent bowling from everyone bowled Ham and Petersham out for only 55 runs! Congratulations U12s!
The U11 Girls were in the Southern Counties Regional Finals tournament. Sunbury finished 4th, however narrowly missed out on 3rd place due to net run rate. A massive shoutout to Harri Wheeler, for scoring the most runs out of anyone in the tournament, and Hrisha Shah for having the best bowling figures out of anyone in the tournament. Well done!
Wednesday 28th August
The U13s lost against Teddington by 7 runs.
The U11s were defeated against Sheen Park by 5 wickets. Oliver Birch (20 rtno), Lenny Connors (17 rtno) and Krishan Bhatt (17 rtno).
Thursday 29th August
A huge win for the U15s against Eastcote in the Middlesex League playoffs Semi-Final. The U15s elected to bat first and scored 145 runs. Aadit Unni (49 off 46) and Rishaan Mehmi (45 off 33). Brilliant bowling from Sunbury to keep Eastcote to 125. Good luck to the U15s in the Final!
The U14s lost against Ashford by 5 wickets. Emma Gillespie (18*) and Nishkarsh Jain (19 rtno).
An incredible season for the U13 Girls who got to the Surrey Hundred Cup Final. However, it wasn’t Sunbury’s day in the Final against Banstead. Rhythm Gala scored an exhilarating 40 rtno off 38 deliveries to get Sunbury to a total of 122 runs. Harri Wheeler’s magnificent 15 balls for 12 runs with 2 wickets was unfortunately not enough for the Sunbury win, and Banstead chased down the target with 6 balls remaining.
Friday 30th August
Shaurya Desai (2-2-0-3) and Sanmay Pingle (2-0-3-3) both took 3 wickets in the U12s thrashing against Teddington. The U12s chased the 45-run target down in 5 overs!
