Our Junior Correspondent saw great individual perfromances

Monday 29th April
Finally, the sun is breaking through the clouds and the week starting off with home victories for both the u11s and u12s.

Superb performance and some excellent cricket on show in the u11 vs Richmond match.
An impressive innings from Oli with 74 off 61 balls and then some attacking bowling across the team with Lenny taking 2 wickets and the spin of Charlie, Ranveer and Divam bamboozling the batsman and taking 3, 2 and 1 wickets respectively!

A great catch and a run out from Arhaan and a brave run out from Divam off his own bowling accounted for an early finish - all out after 17.2 overs.

The same can be said for the u12’s as they were victorious in a close encounter with Indian Gym. A top innings from Lucas Cholewa, an astounding 85 off only 61 deliveries with a strike rate of 139.

Tuesday 30th April
For the u13s a dazzling display from the bowlers with wickets shared around the team, which left Indian Gym 54 all out in 14.2 overs.

The batsman then chased this score down in only 8.4 overs only 1 wicket down (Liam O’Connor 19* Marlee Sharp 29*).

The u13 Girls were sadly defeated in their friendly against East Molesey, the bowlers bowling well to bowl East Molesey out for 112 in 18.4 overs. East Molesey bowled well and kept the u13 Girls down to 101 (Harri Wheeler 18*).

Wednesday 1st May
Brilliant performance with the ball from the u14Bs, as they restricted Twickenham to 90 to win comfortably by 22 runs on a wet Wednesday evening (Jack Marland 3 Overs, 2 Mdns, 2 Wkts for 5 Runs).

Away at Richmond the u13 Girls were unlucky, and were all out for 48, chasing 154.

Thursday 2nd May
An enormous victory at home for our u15’s, who obliterated Hampton Hill by 77 runs. Sunbury batted first and Tom Goldney destroyed the Hampton Hill bowling attack hitting 94 off 75 deliveries with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Charlie Maunders came in and controlled the game with Tom as he ended with 38. A superb 128 run partnership. Then it was our turn with the ball, as the bowlers charged in holding Hampton Hill down to only 75 (Rajveer Johal 3 Wkts).

The u14’s played a friendly away at East Molesey. On a difficult wicket scoring 125, unfortunately this was chased down in the final over of the match. Leo Pearson took 2 wickets in 2 balls, the hattrick ball was met with a solid forward defence with the batsman not wanting to be out.

Friday 3rd May
The week did not end the way it started. The rain was back which meant the u14s first league game vs Indian Gym was abandoned.

And finally...
Well done to the U15s for giving away the least extras (16) in their match vs Hampton Hill, the u11s were close behind with 17 vs Richmond.

We look forward to more Sunbury success next week.
